Our Dentists and Staff
Michael J. Carlson, D.D.S.
Dr. Mike has been practicing dentistry in Escondido since 1999. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Mike has a fellowship in dental implantology from the California Implant Institute consisting of 160 hours of education in surgical and restorative care associated with dental implants. He is a fellow with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Mike is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the San Diego County Dental Society, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He and his wife Serena and live in Vista. They enjoy visiting their kids and enjoying all the outdoor activities Southern California has to offer.
Michael Smith, D.D.S.
Dr. Smith joined the practice after proudly serving five years in the United States Navy as a dental officer. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in 2020 before completing an intensive Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at the CAPT James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center in Great Lakes Illinois. During his service, Dr. Smith completed two overseas deployments with the Seabees and spent his final two years improving the oral health of the Marines on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
Dr. Smith is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental care. He values honest communication and takes the time to educate patients on their oral health, ensuring that each treatment plan is tailored to their individual needs and goals.
When he's not in the office, Dr. Smith and his wife Dominika enjoy staying active, spending time outdoors exploring the beaches and trails of Southern California, and cooking. He’s excited to be part of the team and looks forward to serving the dental needs of our community with the same dedication he brought to his military service.
Hygienists
Our hygienists, Beth, Jessica, Ivette and Brianna are all California Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH). Our office strives for healthy gums and strong teeth by promoting active maintenance and prevention. Our hygienists instruct patients on the latest in oral hygiene products and techniques.
Registered Dental Assistants
Carmen, Stephanie and Amy are California Registered Dental Assistants (RDA). Carmen, Stephanie and Amy work with the doctors in providing comprehensive and comfortable care while meeting your dental needs.
